The magic is back 1985-87!

The year was late 1985 & one can argue this was thee most ridiculous time in the career of the once greatest band in the world KISS. The band had just made a major career change three yrs prior, when they took their make-up off and many hard rock fans were discovering a new KISS for the first time.  A  KISS that they only grew up to know as a joke band was now a real band again and you didn't have to worry about getting beat up if you were a fan, This was all fine & great for the new kids, but something was missing, The new Kids hadn't come to fully appreciate the old KISS,  Those guys that use to wear make up,  Fans had just come off the first two albums .Lick it Up & Animalize. without the old war paint,   It was starting to become certain that KISS had reached a level of acceptance & fame. one the likes America hadn't seen since 1978. Was the magic back? I say Yes! Kiss embarked on what they called at the time their biggest stage to date. the Asylum tour.

Fast forward. the year is 1987  & to coincide with the  Asylum release. KISS unleashes for the first time   footage of the original band wearing the make -up on home video   KISS Exposed! It didn't matter who you were. everyone that was ever  a fan bought this Movie. I believe this Video was responsible for what turned out to be a major resurgence  in KISS fandom.  Every single fan became hungry for more and more film footage and the hunt was on, There was a lot of concert footage just waiting to be found and eventually it was, but until that happened for a long time this was what we had and we were grateful .  The hunger for more led to massive bootlegging and  selling, hunting down & releasing through unauthorized fan clubs. anything & everything with KISS in make up. This demand most likely was a huge factor that eventually led to the reunion of the original band in 1995, & a full blown tour in 1996. One can only speculate.
